An effective and responsive federal government has never felt more imperative, as we only begin to contemplate how we respond to the pandemic that has taken our world and nation by storm. We face unprecedented challenges to meet the needs of a growing population of people who feel vulnerable and afraid. Anyone working in government still enjoys the rapture of action. It’s an honor.

With more than a decade of experience as a design and content strategist with deep roots in highly regulated industries like health care and biomedical science, I began my career as a science writer working at academic medical centers in Boston and learned to code because the people around me didn’t know how.

Today, in my role as a Human Innovation Fellow at the Lab at OPM, I am working across agencies to infuse human-centered design-led practices through content strategy. I am responsible for developing systems that are informed by best practices in digital and design strategy, conducting activities that yield recommendations for improved systems. Beyond that, I create opportunities for organizations to better understand their customers and create measurable improvements and impact.

The Public Sector section of this portfolio summarizes efforts I’ve led or participated in through my work at the Lab at OPM.
